Matthew McConaughey offered Christopher Nolan's Interstellar?

Matthew McConaughey has allegedly been offered the leading role in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. Deadline reports that the actor would play a character named Cooper.

McCanaughey, who recently starred in Killer Joe, The Paperboy, and Magic Mike, can soon be seen in Mud, The Dallas Buyers Club and The Wolf of Wall Street.

It was reported last week that Matthew McConaughey had been offered the male lead in Christopher Nolan's next film, Interstellar. The actor has now confirmed to the Star Tribune (via The Playlist) that he indeed will play the character named Cooper.


When asked about the role, McConaughey simply said: "I'm confirming."

Collider is reporting that long time Chris Nolan collaborator Hans Zimmer will score his upcoming film Interstellar and has already started working on the film's music. Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) has revealed to ELLE Magazine that he is joining director Christopher Nolan's next film, Interstellar.


He said: "I've got a movie coming out at Thanksgiving called Out of the Furnace, and I'm going to work on a Chris Nolan movie in the fall."
