JVC LAUNCHES HIGH PERFORMANCE MOBILE AMPS AND SUBWOOFERS

New series offer advanced technologies and installation flexibility.

LAS VEGAS, January 6, 2005 – JVC today introduced a new line of car audio power amplifiers and subwoofers that combine high performance with installation options that will appeal to both professional installers and the do-it-yourself enthusiast.

In both categories JVC is offering two product series to meet the needs and budgets of a wide range of mobile entertainment consumers – an entry level line of amps and subs, plus a higher-end line in each category offering more advanced technologies and features.

“With our new amps and subs, we’ve created a very focused product line that delivers first-rate performance combined with the flexibility to work with a broad range of installations,” said Gary DeFeo, General Manager, Mobile Entertainment, JVC Company of America.

In power amplifiers, JVC is offering four models. Its most advanced amplifiers are the KS-AX5700 and KS-AX5500, bridgeable two-channel and bridgeable four-channel amps, respectively. Both share features that allow these amps to deliver plenty of power in a variety of system configurations. Shared features include class AB circuitry, MOS-FET power supply converter, built-in variable crossover network with a range from 50 to 300Hz in 12dB steps, input level control variable from 0.3 to 6V, a switch for turning on or off high and low pass filters, gold-plated input terminals, gold plated RCA jacks, speaker input connector, balanced input and two-ohm stable operation. There’s plenty of protection built into each amp, too, with protection circuitry for high temperature, overload, short circuits and DC offset. For easy access to controls and settings, both amps offer covered, top-mounted control panels.

The KS-AX5700, a bridgeable two-channel amplifier, offers two- or one-channel operation, and has a continuous power (RMS) rating of 200 watts per channel into four ohms, 20Hz- 20kHz, at less than one percent total harmonic distortion. Its maximum power output is 1,000 watts. In addition to its other features, it offers a variable bass boost control.

The KS-AX5500, a bridgeable four-channel amplifier, offers four-, three- or two-channel operation. It has a continuous power (RMS) rating of 80 watts per channel into four ohms, 20Hz – 20kHz, at less than one percent total harmonic distortion. Maximum power output is 800 watts.

The KS-AX3500 and KS-AX3300 comprise JVC’s second pair of power amplifiers. They do not offer the higher-end models’ variable crossover network, variable bass boost control or control panel, but incorporate the class AB circuitry, MOS-FET power supply converter and other features that ensure a clean signal and reliable performance.

The KS-AX3500, a bridgeable four-channel amplifier, offers four- or three-channel operation. It has a continuous power (RMS) rating of 52 watts per channel into four ohms, 20Hz – 20kHz, at less than one percent total harmonic distortion. Maximum power output is 500 watts.

The KS-AX3300, a bridgeable two-channel amplifier, offers two- or one-channel operation. Its continuous power (RMS) rating is 60 watts per channel into four ohms, 20Hz – 20kHz, at less than one percent total harmonic distortion. Maximum power output is 280 watts.

Availability and nationally advertised prices for JVC’s new mobile power amplifiers are as follows:
