Leben Hi-Fi Co. is a Japanese manufacturer of rare hifi. Mr. Hyoudo, who owns Leben Hi-Fi Co., is a multi-talented individual. He was a professional musician, a well-known audiophile, and a skilled hifi engineer, having long experience in designing famous amplifiers under Luxman Corporation, an important player in the Japanese high-end market, besides their mass-market products - since 1925.
Mr. Hyoudo is nowadays ranked as one of the best seven tube audio engineers in Japan. He is also a well-known collector of some of the world's premium tubes such as 3CSS, 12AT7, E288CC, 6L6GC (5881), all of which are (will be) used in Leben amplifiers at their best capabilities based on Leben's technology.
Leben is also a specialized manufacturer of electrical and electronic parts such as power transformers, switches, and so on, which are the main products of Leben. Tape monitor, headphone output, speaker/headphone selector, variable output impedance (4/6/8 ohms). Retro looks reminiscent of older McIntosh equipment, but modern frequency response from 15hz to 100Khz, no difficulties matching SACD's or DVD-A's standards.
Watch for it. Authentic Made in Japan, and even with high quality parts and long experience behind it, a nice price. It definitely helps that Leben is a manufacturer of transformers, switches, and other parts. In the last ten months, over 380 sets have already been sold in Japan, as well as in China and Taiwan, currently the biggest market outside Japan.
