The Girl on the Train movie eyes Chris Evans and Jared Leto

Two more stars are eyeing leading roles in DreamWorks’ upcoming adaptation of Paula Hawkins‘ runaway bestseller, The Girl on the Train, as The Hollywood Reporter today brings word that both Chris Evans (Marvel’s The Avengers, Before We Go) and Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Dallas Buyers Club) have entered negotiations. They join the previously-announced stars Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow, Into the Woods), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Hercules) and Haley Bennett (The Equalizer, The Hole) in the Tate Taylor (The Help, Get on Up) film.

Rebecca Ferguson boards The Girl on the Train

It was revealed back in June that Emily Blunt was eyeing a leading role in The Girl on the Train, DreamWorks’ upcoming adaptation of Paula Hawkins‘ runaway bestseller. Now, Deadline reports that Rebecca Ferguson, the scene-stealing star of Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, is set to join blunt in the Tate Taylor (The Help, Get on Up) film. Ferguson will play Anna, one of three female leads with Blunt starring as Rachel.

Girl on the Train movie loses Chris Evans, gains Justin Theroux

Although it was announced in September that both Chris Evans (Marvel’s The Avengers, Before We Go) and Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Dallas Buyers Club) had entered negotiations to join DreamWorks’ upcoming adaptation of Paula Hawkins‘ runaway bestseller The Girl on the Train, the trades also mentioned the caveat that one or the other might have to bow out due to scheduling. It seems that has now happened, as The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Evans has left the film due to expected scheduling issues (likely caused by Marc Webb’s currently-lensing drama Gifted or Captain America: Civil War promotional work), leaving “The Leftovers” star Justin Theroux to take his place.

Luke Evans replaces Jared Leto in The Girl on the Train

With Chris Evans having already departed DreamWorks’ upcoming adaptation of Paula Hawkins‘ runaway bestseller The Girl on the Train due to previously foreseen scheduling conflicts, Oscar-winner Jared Leto has now also been forced to back out for the same reasons. Fortunately, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that another “Evans” has come to the rescue: Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, Dracula Untold) will replace Leto in the film.

The girl on the train.... Μιλάμε για την πατάτα αν σκεφτούμε τι ντόρος έγινε πριν πρβληθει. Περίμενα και εγώ ο έρμος ΤΗΝ ανατροπή στο τέλος μετά από τόση ώρα παρακολουθώντας το πορτρέτο της ψυχοτικης παλαβης νυμφομανους μέσης αμερικανιδας νοικοκυρας για να δω μια φούσκα... Ένα προβλέψημο από μια στιγμή και μετά τέλος που το έχω ξαναδεί σε μια ντουζίνα ταινίες της σειράς.... Κρίμα... Χάσιμο χρόνου..

Μεγάλη αποτυχία. Αν εξαιρέσεις την πρωταγωνίστρια που είναι ωραία κοπέλα η ταινία δεν έχει να σου προσφέρει τίποτα παραπάνω. Βαρετή μέχρι αηδίας, σχεδόν σε παίρνει ο ύπνος. Δεν προτείνεται αν είστε κουρασμένοι ή έχετε πιει 2-3 μπύρες.
