"Wilson Audio has never been one to follow a crowd. While other companies have been trying to make their subwoofers as small as possible, Wilson has released a humongous new subwoofer, with performance big and bold enough to back up its “Thor’s Hammer” name. The cabinet measures 59” H x 20” W x 25.5” D, and weighs 412 lbs.
The two 15” woofers build on the foundation of the WATCH Dog’s 12.5” long-throw woofer, and use dual-spider cone designs to lower distortion and keep movement as piston-like as possible. The Thor’s Hammer has a frequency range of 15Hz – 70Hz, and an optional outboard crossover can be used to integrate it into a full range system. Wilson leaves the choice of amplification up to you, as no internal amplifier is used.
The Wilson Audio Thor's Hammer Subwoofer will be available late 2008 with an MSRP of $21,000."
