Task Force X assembles for an official Suicide Squad cast photo!

UPDATE: David Ayer has now revealed an image of Will Smith’s Deadshot in his full costume which we’ve added below. The original story follows:

As production continues on Warner Bros.’ next DC Comics film, director David Ayer has assembled the super villain team for our first official Suicide Squad cast photo!

Among those featured are Will Smith (The Pursuit of Happyness, Focus) as Deadshot; Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop, Easy Money) as Rick Flagg; Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, Focus) as Harley Quinn; Jai Courtney (Divergent, The Water Diviner) as Captain Boomerang; Cara Delevingne (Anna Karenina, upcoming Pan) as Enchantress; Karen Fukuhara as Katana; Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc; Jay Hernandez as El DIablo; and Adam Beach as Slipknot.

Missing from the photo are Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Raymond Olubowale, Alex Meraz, Jim Parrack, and Common in addition to Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller and Jared Leto’s previously-revealed Joker. Check out the image below!

Deadshot descends a building in new Suicide Squad set photos

Though director David Ayer assured fans last week that surprises remained intact for his upcoming Suicide Squad film and that the production was “going dark,” new images of Will Smith’s Deadshot have debuted online (via CBM), showing him repelling down a building. Check them out below!

Suicide Squad Comic-Con footage officially released!

When the latest Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer debuted right after its premiere at San Diego Comic-Con, it got fans wondering why the Suicide Squad Comic-Con footage didn’t follow suit. After a few days of bad recordings floating around online, Warner Bros. Pictures has officially released the Comic-Con reel for the film which you can check out in the player below.

Sue Kroll, President Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures said the following in a statement: “Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.”

Yesterday brought the subscriber’s cover for the latest issue of Empire magazine and now the regular covers for the issue have debuted with another shocking image of Jared Leto’s Joker from the upcoming Suicide Squad. Check them out below along with the cover for Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress!

Cara Delevingne and Jared Leto talk Enchantress and Joker in Suicide Squad

We’ve seen the new covers and plenty of new images from the latest issue of Empire magazine showing off the wild and crazy world of Warner Bros.’ upcoming Suicide Squad, but now the cast has spoken about their characters in the film.

Model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne opened up about her role in the film, in which she will play both explorer June Moone and the “feral” Enchantress.

“She’s an ancient sorceress,” Delevingne says. “A feral being. She’s been trapped for so long and now she’s finally let out… June is an adventure-seeker who’s always wanted some excitement. And she gets what she wished for, in an terrible way.”

On The Joker side of things, Academy Award winner Jared Leto opened up about his process of becoming the clown prince of crime, saying:

“There was definitely a period of… detachment. I took a pretty deep dive. But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn’t imagine doing it another way. It was fun, playing those psychological games… It was painful, like giving birth out of my p***k-hole.”

Director David Ayer also talked about the reimainging of the fan-favorite villain.

“If you don’t break rules, you’re not going to strike new ground,” he explains. “There’s a power to that character, and by some freaking miracle, through the incredible things Jared has done and the photography and all the other things that went into it, we’ve cooked up something transcendent.”

Producer Charles Roven spoke more in-context of the film about The Joker, calling him “more social” than Jokers past and calling him “a very successful and smart businessman.”

Suicide Squad’s Deadshot and Harley Quinn featured in new cover images

Empire magazine continues to roll out their Suicide Squad character covers for their latest issue, and two more have now debuted online featuring Will Smith’s Deadshot and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. Check them out in the gallery below along with previously-released covers and photos!

“When I got the role I started looking up Harley costumes online, with my mum sitting next to me,” Robbie tells Empire “She was like, ‘My daughter is going to dress like a prostitute!’ There are a lot of angry mothers out there!”

Smith opened up about his role in the film, teasing the relationship between Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and The Joker. “Deadshot’s actually eyeballing [Harley] a little bit. There’s a pretty ragged romantic triangle there.”
