Βραβείο για τον «Παράδεισο

Με το βραβείο κριτικής του Φεστιβάλ Πόλις του Φωτός - Πόλις των Αγγέλων τιμήθηκε ο Κώστας Γαβράς στο Λος Αντζελες για την καινούργια του ταινία «Παράδεισος στη Δύση», όπου ο πρωταγωνιστής Ρικάρντο Σκαμάρτσιο στον ρόλο ενός μετανάστη από την Ανατολή περιφέρεται ως άλλος Οδυσσέας από την Ελλάδα ως τη Γαλλία.

σκηνοθέτης είχε την τιμητική του στο φεστιβάλ γαλλικού κινηματογράφου που διοργανώθηκε στην καλιφορνέζικη πόλη για 13η συνεχή χρονιά, καθώς φιλοξένησε στο πρόγραμμά του όλες τις ταινίες του, ανάμεσα στις οποίες και την πρώτη του, το «Διαμέρισμα για δολοφόνους».

Το θέμα της μετανάστευσης, στο οποίο επικεντρώνεται ο «Παράδεισος στη Δύση», απασχόλησε ιδιαιτέρως τη διοργάνωση, καθώς το τιμημένο με το βραβείο κοινού «Welcome» του Φιλίπ Λοριέ (έριξε την αυλαία του φεστιβάλ) έδωσε την αφορμή στον σκηνοθέτη να διαμαρτυρηθεί για την πολιτική του υπουργού Μετανάστευσης, Ερίκ Μπεσόν.

Ο Λοριέ τόλμησε να παραλληλίσει τη σημερινή μετανάστευση στη Γαλλία με την κατάσταση των Εβραίων κατά τη διάρκεια της γερμανικής κατοχής, για να τονίσει πως η ταινία του καταγγέλλει τους «κατασταλτικούς μηχανισμούς» που η χώρα του απεργάζεται.

Το σενάριο αφηγείται τη συνάντηση ανάμεσα σε έναν Γάλλο και έναν Κούρδο λαθρομετανάστη που θέλει να περάσει στη Μεγάλη Βρετανία.

Η κριτική επιτροπή τίμησε, ακόμη, με ειδικό βραβείο την ταινία «Η πρώτη ημέρα της υπόλοιπης ζωής του», ενώ το ειδικό βραβείο του κοινού απέσπασε η κωμωδία «Οπως οι άλλοι».

Ο Μάικλ Ντάγκλας ... αδίστακτος χρηματιστής

Ο Μάικλ Ντάγκλας υπέγραψε συμβόλαιο για να πρωταγωνιστήσει στη συνέχεια της
ταινίας του... 1987, "Wall Street," ανακοίνωσε χθες Τρίτη η εταιρία Twentieth
Century Fox.

Ο Όλιβερ Στόουν, που σκηνοθέτησε την πρωτη ταινία, συμφώνησε και εκείνος να
σκηνοθετήσει τη συνέχειά της, την "Wall Street II", η οποία ακόμη παραμένει
άγνωστο πότε θα ολοκληρωθεί.

Η ταινία θα ενσωματώσει την παρούσα χρηματοπιστωτική κρίση και την ύφεση.
Τα γυρίσματα της ταινίας αναμένεται να ξεκινήσουν το καλοκαίρι και το σενάριο
υπογράφει ο Άλαν Λεμπ, ο οποίος συνυπογράφει το σενάριο της ταινίας του 2008,
"21" με πρωταγωνιστή τον Κέβιν Σπέισι.

Three More Action Projects Lined Up for Bruce Willis

In Inventory, Willis, who is still in negotiations for the role, would play a detective on the trail of a murderer. How's that for a very vague synopsis? No writer or director is attached yet, as far as we know, although there's probably a screenplay for this written by someone out there. Any names?

In Red, Willis would portray a former black-ops agent who has gone into retirement but is forced back into action when a high-tech assassin threatens him and his girlfriend. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing, and Erich and Jon Hoeber (of Whiteout previously) are writing the screenplay, which is based on the WildStorm comic series. Early word is that Richard Donner might direct.

In Scarpa, Willis would play the title character Gregory Scarpa Sr., an FBI informant who worked deeply undercover in New York’s Columbo mob family. Earlier in the year, Fuqua said that they were talking to Sean Penn for the lead, but that was before he won the Oscar. Not sure who is writing this either?

DEATH NOTE

H Warner Bros θελει να μεταφερει στη μεγαλη οθονη το Death Note !

Its a Japanese manga series.

The studio has hired screenwriters Charley and Vlas Parlapanides to adapt the property.

The story centers on a college student who accidentally finds a misplaced "death note," infusing him with the power to kill merely by writing anyone's name on the page while picturing the person in his mind.

The 13-volume manga is a bestseller in Japan, and the film will be drawn from the first three installments, written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata.

Hugh Jackman's Next Comic Book Movie Contains Ghosts

The comic is an as of yet unpublished graphic novel called Ghostopolis, about a man who works for the government’s Supernatural Immigration Task Force.

His job is to deport ghosts who sneak into our world, back to their world in Ghostopolis.

In the comic, a live boy is accidentally sent to Ghostopolis and so Hugh Jackman teams up with a female ghost go bring him back.

No director yet, but it’s a Disney movie which means you probably shouldn’t expect Eli Roth.

McG Already Leaking Early Story Details on Terminator 5 ?

Here's what he had to say:

"I strongly suspect the next movie is going to take place in a [pre-Judgment Day] 2011," McG reveals. "John Connor is going to travel back in time and he's going to have to galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending SkyNet invasion."

"They've figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you're going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be fucking awesome.

I also think he's going to meet a scientist that's going to look a lot like present-day Robert Patrick [who famously played the T-1000 in Terminator 2], talking about stem-cell research and how we can all live as idealized, younger versions of ourselves."

TRIBES OF OCTOBER (2011)

Sounding more like The Godfather than Escape from New York, Philippe Martinez’s post-apocalyptic thriller, Tribes of October, may be looking to mix two genres that don't really feel like they belong together. It will however, have a pretty stellar cast. According to THR (via scificool), Ray Stevenson, Jaime King, Stephen Moyer, Robert Duvall, and James Caan have all signed up for the intriguing sounding film.

Synopsis:

In a battle of biblical proportions under an eternally crimson sky in post-apocalyptic New York city, detective Michael Hillburn must cross the city on the most dangerous night of the year to avenge the death of a fellow officer and save May Kelly, the girl he loves, from the clutches of the elusive crime boss, Lord Akuma.

"Το Μούτρο" επιστρέφει

Σύμφωνα με το έντυπο Production Weekly, ο σκηνοθέτης Σάιμον Ουέστ ("Con Air", "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider") πρόκειται να σκηνοθετήσει το remake της κλασικής ταινίας δράσης, "Το Μούτρο". Τον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο, τον οποίο είχε ο Τσαρλς Μπρόνσον στην πρωτότυπη ταινία του 1972, αναλαμβάνει ο Τζέισον Στέιθαμ ("Transporter").

Κεντρικός ήρωας της ιστορίας είναι ο Άρθουρ Μπίσοπ, εκτελεστής της Μαφίας που ζει σε έναν κόσμο όπου οι νόμοι της ηθικής δεν έχουν καμιά θέση και όπου η παραμικρή λάθος κίνηση μπορεί να του κοστίσει τη ζωή. Ο Μπίσοπ πάντα δούλευε μόνος άλλα, καθώς τα χρόνια περνούν, αποφασίζει να μάθει όλα όσα ξέρει σε έναν ικανό και αμείλικτο μαθητευόμενο. Μαζί αποτελούν ένα φονικό ντουέτο αλλά η αναλγησία του μαθητή θα τον φέρει σε σύγκρουση με τον δάσκαλο.

Ο Μάικλ Σιν στο "Twilight: New Moon"

Ο Μάικλ Σιν, γνωστός από τους ρόλους του στις ταινίες "Frost/Nixon" και "The Queen", καθώς και τη σειρά ταινιών "Underworld", προστέθηκε στο cast του πολυαναμενόμενου sequel του "Twilight". Ο Σιν θα υποδύεται τον Aro, τον αρχηγό των Volturi, μιας ιταλικής φυλής βρυκολάκων.

Στο "Twilight: New Moon", η Bella (Κρίστεν Στιούαρτ) βρίσκεται σε απόγνωση μετά την ξαφνική αναχώρηση του Edward (Ρόμπερτ Πάτινσον), του βρυκόλακα που ερωτεύτηκε. Θα βρει παρηγοριά μέσα από τη φιλία της με τον ακαταμάχητο Jacob Black, αλλά θα βρεθεί χωρίς να το καταλάβει μπλεγμένη στον κόσμο των λυκάνθρωπων, οι οποίοι είναι αιώνιοι εχθροί των βρυκολάκων.

Την σκηνοθεσία έχει αναλάβει ο Κρις Βάις ("About a Boy").
