Η Κάμερον Ντίαζ στο "The Box"

Η Κάμερον Ντίαζ πρωταγωνιστεί μαζί με τον, υποψήφιο για Όσκαρ Ά Ανδρικού Ρόλου, Φρανκ Λαντζέλα ("Frost/Nixon") και τον Τζέιμς Μάρσντεν ("X-Men") στην νέα πολυαναμενόμενη ταινία τρόμου "The Box" του Ρίτσαρντ Κέλι, δημιουργού του "Donnie Darko".

Κεντρικοί ήρωες της ιστορίας οι Άρθουρ (Μάρσντεν) και Νόρμα Λιούις (Ντίαζ), ανδρόγυνο και γονείς ενός μικρού παιδιού, οι οποίοι λαμβάνουν ανώνυμα ένα μυστηριώδες δώρο: ένα μικρό ξύλινο κουτί που μπορεί να χαρίσει στον ιδιοκτήτη του 1.000.000 € με το πάτημα ενός κουμπιού. Το πάτημα του κουμπιού όμως οδηγεί ταυτόχρονα στο θάνατο ενός ανθρώπου κάπου στον κόσμο, τον οποίον δε γνωρίζει το ζευγάρι. Έχοντας το κουτί στην κατοχή τους μόνο για ένα 24ωρο, η Νόρμα και ο Άρθουρ θα έρθουν αντιμέτωποι με ένα τρομακτικό δίλημμα...

"Twelve" του Τζόελ Σουμάχερ

Ο σκηνοθέτης Τζόελ Σουμάχερ ("Flatliners", "Batman Forever") επιστρέφει με την ταινία "Twelve", βασισμένη στο ομώνυμο βιβλίο του Νικ ΜακΝτόνελ.
Η ιστορία αφορά έναν νεαρό, ο οποίος έχει εγκαταλείψει το σχολείο και ασχολείται με το εμπόριο ναρκωτικών. Η ζωή του παίρνει μια απροσδόκητη τροπή όταν ο ξάδερφός του δολοφονείται σε μια παιδική χαρά του Ανατολικού Χάρλεμ, ενώ ο καλύτερός του φίλος συλλαμβάνεται ως ο ένοχος.

Στην ταινία θα πρωταγωνιστούν οι Κίφερ Σάδερλαντ ("24"), Έλεν Μπάρκιν ("Η Συμμορία των 13"), Κέρτις "50 Cent" Τζάκσον ("Ου Φονεύσεις"), Τσέις Κρόφορντ ("Gossip Girl"), Έμα Ρόμπερτς ("Nancy Drew") και Ρόρι Κάλκιν ("Οιωνός").

Οι "Κυνηγοί" του Ρόμπερτ Ροντρίγκεζ

Ο "Κυνηγός" επιστρέφει το 2010, στο πιο τολμηρό κεφάλαιο της ιστορίας μέχρι σήμερα, αν αναλογιστεί κανείς πως την παραγωγή υπογράφει ο Ρόμπερτ Ροντρίγκεζ ("Planet Terror"). Η νέα ταινία, με τίτλο "Predators" έχει σκοπό να επανεφεύρει τον μύθο του "Κυνηγού" από την αρχή.

"Στόχος μου είναι να αναπτύξω τις ιδέες που είχα γράψει σε ένα πρώτο σενάριο για ένα πιθανό sequel της σειράς, πριν από 15 περίπου χρόνια, το οποίο επεκτείνει το σύμπαν των "Κυνηγών" προσθέτοντας και άλλα είδη" δήλωσε ο Ροντρίγκεζ. "Θα δημιουργήσουμε νέους απόκοσμους χαρακτήρες, χωρίς όμως να απομακρύνουμε τον "Κυνηγό" ως κεντρικό πυρήνα της ιστορίας."

Rodriquez Talks Sin City 2 Plot

For the third time in the last 6 months Robert Rodriquez has hinted that the upcoming Sin City 2 will begin shooting this year. This go around though he spilled to IGN the plot details. It will as everyone though be focused on A Dame To Kill For but also new material Frank Miller will be writing for the film;

As for the story in the film, Rodriguez said that it will include the Sin City story “A Dame to Kill For” as well as new additional material written by Miller himself.

“There’s a lot of stories,” Rodriguez said. “That was sort of the approach I took to it. That’s why there’s three stories in the [first] movie, because I thought, ‘I love this material, but gosh, what happens if it’s not successful and I don’t get to make a part two and part three. I still want to see “The Big Fat Kill” and “That Yellow Bastard.”‘ So I wanted to put them all in one movie so I could at least get some of these stories out of my system. But there’s still so many books and so many stories to do.”

TRIBES OF OCTOBER (2011)

Sounding more like The Godfather than Escape from New York, Philippe Martinez’s post-apocalyptic thriller, Tribes of October, may be looking to mix two genres that don't really feel like they belong together. It will however, have a pretty stellar cast. According to THR (via scificool), Ray Stevenson, Jaime King, Stephen Moyer, Robert Duvall, and James Caan have all signed up for the intriguing sounding film.

Synopsis:

In a battle of biblical proportions under an eternally crimson sky in post-apocalyptic New York city, detective Michael Hillburn must cross the city on the most dangerous night of the year to avenge the death of a fellow officer and save May Kelly, the girl he loves, from the clutches of the elusive crime boss, Lord Akuma.

Vin Diesel is The Wheelman

Paramount Pictures has set John Singleton to direct and Lorenzo di Bonaventura to produce The Wheelman, a live-action adaptation of the Ubisoft video game "Wheelman." The game launched last month, with Diesel as its main character and the game's producer.

Diesel will play an expert driver who comes out of retirement to protect a woman from his past.

Rich Wilkes wrote the script; the writing team of Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell did a rewrite.

Di Bonaventura (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) will produce with Diesel and his One Race Films partner Samantha Vincent.

Οριστικό «όχι» στο αίτημα του Ρομάν Πολάνσκι να σταματήσει η δίωξή του στις ΗΠΑ για τη γνωστή υπόθεση βιασμού, του 1978, είπε ο Αμερικανός δικαστής Πίτερ Εσπινόζα, αφού ο διάσημος σκηνοθέτης δεν παρέστη στην ακροαματική διαδικασία.

Από τον περασμένο Φεβρουάριο, ο Πίτερ Εσπινόζα είχε ξεκαθαρίσει ότι θα μελετήσει το ενδεχόμενο τερματισμού της δίωξης, υπό τον όρο Ρομάν Πολάνσκι να επιστρέψει στις ΗΠΑ και να παραστεί στη διαδικασία.

Ο Εσπινόζα έχει ήδη παραδεχθεί πως ότι υπήρξε κακή αντιμετώπιση της υπόθεσης από την αρχή της εκδίκασής της.

Η ακροαματική διαδικασία της 7ης Μαΐου εξελίχθηκε σε μία ολιγόλεπτη και καθαρά τυπική διαδικασία, με τον Αμερικανό δικαστή να ανακοινώνει απλώς την ακυρωτική απόφαση επί του αιτήματος του σκηνοθέτη.

Ο Ρομάν Πολάνσκι εγκατέλειψε τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες το 1978 και, όπως ξεκαθάρισαν οι συνήγοροί του, δεν πρόκειται να επιστρέψει καθώς εκκρεμεί το ένταλμα σύλληψής του.

Next Up for Marc Forster is Disconnect, Not World War Z

As much as I'd love to see a World War Z movie next year, it looks like that won't be the next project for director Marc Forster. As announced today via Variety, the next gig for Forster will be a tech thriller called Disconnect that is being developed by the indie company Nala Films.

Written by Andrew Stern, the script explores the mystery of how people live in today's wired world, where the technology meant to bring them together only forces them further apart.

Comic book adaptation STATION
According to scifiwire (via variety), CBS Films has acquired the screen rights to "Station," a really interesting space station murder mystery comic published by Boom! Studios. I, Robot writer Jeff Vintar, who was recently tapped to adapt Asimov's "Foundation" for Roland Emmerich (snap), will tackle Station as well.

Synopsis:

The International Space Station — the crowning achievement of mankindʼs space program, assembled and maintained by the governments of the worldʼs five greatest superpowers…and the site of the ultimate locked-room mystery as one of seven astronauts aboard has targeted the others for death! A thriller in the vein of WHITEOUT!

Terminator Salvation Blu-ray to Get 30-40 Min of Deleted Scenes

'Terminator: Salvation', Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub got to sit down with the film's director to ask him a few questions about the film. One of the noteworthy tidbits he found out was that the future Blu-ray and DVD releases would receive 30-40 minutes of deleted scenes, including an alternate ending.
