Angels & Demons to Start Filming in February

the Los Angeles Times published an article talking about how Akiva Goldsman is writing non-stop to finish the script for The Da Vinci Code sequel Angels & Demons before the writers strike is expected to happen on Nov. 1.

Now, Variety adds that Columbia Pictures has set a February start date for the film, again to be directed by Ron Howard for a December 19, 2008 release.

The trade says the production has begun casting around Tom Hanks, who will reprise his role as Robert Langdon.

Hanks' character, a Harvard-based expert on religious symbols, this time sleuths a mystery that involves a secret society and a conspiracy that leads to Vatican City and threatens the future of the Catholic Church.

Ο Morricone θα επιστρέψει με τους ..Αδιάφθορους

Ο Brian De Palma ετοιμάζει το prequel για την ταινία του The Untouchables και ο Ennio Morricone θα επιστρέψει με το κλασσικό πια score της ταινίας καθώς και με κάποιες νέες συνθέσεις.

Η ταινία που θα λέγεται The Untouchables: Capone Rising θα εξιστορεί την άφιξη του Capone στο Σικάγο, τη σχέση του με τον αστυνομικό Jimmy Malone καθώς και την ανοδική του πορεία.

Τον νεαρό Jimmy Malone θα υποδυθεί ο Gerard Butler ενώ ακόμα δεν έχει γίνει γνωστό σε ποιόν θα δοθεί ο ρόλος του νεαρού Al Capone.

Η ταινία αναμένεται να βγεί μέσα στο 2008.

ΑΠΕΡΓΙΑ !!!

Το συνδικάτο των σεναριογράφων του Χόλιγουντ προχωρά σε απεργία και πλέον οι αμερικανικές σαπουνόπερες και τα τηλεοπτικά σόου αντιμετωπίζουν τεράστιο πρόβλημα (όσο αφορά τις κινηματογραφικές ταινίες δεν υπάρχει μεγάλο πρόβλημα γιατί έχουν στοκάρει σενάρια).

Αυτό που ζητούν είναι ποσοστά επί των κερδών (τι άλλο) από τις πωλήσεις των DVD.

Σε απεργία αποφάσισαν να κατέβουν οι σεναριογράφοι του Χόλιγουντ, διότι όπως ανακοίνωσαν οι εκπρόσωποι του συλλόγου τους, κατέληξαν σε αδιέξοδο οι συνομιλίες με τους παραγωγούς για τα δικαιώματα επί των πωλήσεων των DVD.

Οι επικεφαλής του συλλόγου των σεναριογράφων και των συγγραφέων των ΗΠΑ ανακοίνωσαν ότι θα ενημερώσουν τα περίπου 12.000 μέλη με e-mail για το πότε θα γίνει η απεργία τους.

Θα είναι η πρώτη φορά εδώ και 20 χρόνια που οι συγγραφείς και οι σεναριογράφοι κάνουν απεργία. Η κινητοποίηση αναμένεται ότι θα παραλύσει πολλές παραγωγές ταινιών και σήριαλ στα στούντιο του Χόλιγουντ.

Beowulf (2007)

Στις 16 Νοεμβρίου έχει πρεμιέρα στους κινηματογράφους των ΗΠΑ το νέο φιλμ του Ρόμπερτ Ζεμέκις, 'Beowulf'.

Ένας από τους λόγους που λογικά θα σπάσει τα ταμεία είναι η προβολή του νέου τρέιλερ της ταινίας του Άμπραμς, που είναι τυλιγμένη με ένα πέπλο μυστηρίου (έξυπνο μάρκετινγκ δηλ.), με κωδικό όνομα 'Cloverfield'.

Όσο αφορά πάλι την ταινία Beowulf, αυτή θα προβληθεί στην Ελλάδα από τις 22/11 και μάλιστα στις αίθουσες των Village Cinemas θα γίνουν τρισδιάστατες προβολές με την τεχνολογία Real D.

Max Payne

Ένα από τα καλύτερα video games όλων των εποχών, το καταπληκτικό νουάρ shoot 'em up, 'Max Payne', θα γίνει κινηματογραφική ταινία.

Εξαιρετικό το νέο, αλλά βλέπουμε αστοχία στο καστ καθώς τον ομώνυμο ρόλο μάλλον τον παίρνει ο Μαρκ Γουόλμπεργκ, ενώ είναι κομμένο και ραμμένο για τον Κλάιβ Όουεν.

Πάντως δεν έχουν αφήσει παιχνίδι και κόμικ που να μην το έχουν κάνει ταινία στο Χόλιγουντ.

Winona Ryder Boards Star Trek

Paramount Pictures and director J.J. Abrams have set Winona Ryder to play the Vulcan mother of a young Spock (Zachary Quinto) in Star Trek.

Written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the film revolves around the Starfleet Academy days of the crew of the Starship Enterprise.

Ryder joins a cast that also includes Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, and Rachel Nichols.

Star Trek is scheduled for a Christmas Day 2008 release date.

The April 4 release centers on Nim's Island, a magical place ruled by a young girl's imagination.

It is an existence that mirrors that of her favorite literary character, Alex Rover- the world's greatest adventurer.

But Alexandra, the author of the Rover books, leads a reclusive life in the big city.

When Nim's father goes missing from their island, a twist of fate brings her together with Alexandra.

Now, they must draw courage from their fictional hero, Alex Rover, and find strength in one another to conquer Nim's Island.

Ridley Scott : Stones

Ridley will take on Stones, a supernatural thriller without a cast yet.

The film revolves around the mysterious destruction of ancient religious sites around the world; it turns out that Stonehenge is the tie that binds together artifacts that still have primeval powers.

Written by Matt Cirulnick, the idea is that Stonehenge, the great pyramids and other artifacts were built for a specific unified purpose.

The expected release is sometime in 2009 or 2010+.

«Παρασκευή και 13» ξανά!

Ποιος είπε ότι η κατασκήνωση στην αιματοβαμμένη Crystal Lake έχει κλείσει οριστικά; «Η Παρασκευή και 13», με τα αναρίθμητα επεισόδια που ακολούθησαν το original φιλμ του 1980, επιστρέφει. Ο παραγωγός Μάικλ Μπέι και η εταιρία του Platinum Dunes συνεχίζει το θεάρεστο έργο της (!) να κάνει remake όλων σχεδόν των cult ταινιών τρόμου της δεκαετίας του ’70 και του ’80. Μετά το «Texas Chainsaw Massacre» (2003) και το «The Hitcher» (2007) ο Μπέι αποφάσισε να κάνει μια διασκευή στην original ιστορία του «Παρασκευή και 13», προσπαθώντας πιθανότητα να προσθέσει μερικά εκατοντάδες δολάρια στην περιουσία του... Γιατί δεν μπορούμε να φανταστούμε άλλο λόγο για να «πειράξεις» ένα φιλμ που ούτως ή άλλως έχει κορεστεί με εννέα συνέχειες και αρκετές άλλες ταινίες με πρωταγωνιστή τον χασάπη Τζέισον.

Τελικά, η Platinum Dunes επέλεξε τον Μάρκους Νίσπελ για να σκηνοθετήσει την καινούργια version του «Παρασκευή Και 13». Ο Μάικλ Μπέι και ο Μάρκους Νίσπελ είχαν συνεργαστεί για πρώτη φορά στο remake (κάτι μου θυμίζει αυτό..) του «Texas Chainsaw Massacre» το 2003. Από τότε ο Γερμανός σκηνοθέτης έχει κάνει μόνο την επική ανοησία «Pathfinder» που ευτυχώς για τους Έλληνες σινεφίλ κυκλοφόρησε κατευθείαν σε DVD... Οι φήμες ήθελαν τον σαφώς πιο ποιοτικό Μισέλ Γκοντρί («Αιώνια Λιακάδα Ένος Καθαρού Μυαλού») να αναλαμβάνει την σκηνοθεσία του «Παρασκευή Και 13», αλλά ο Μπέι (λογικά σκεπτόμενος) αποφάσισε ότι δεν μπορείς να κάνεις ένα καλό exploitation φιλμ με ένα σοβαρό σκηνοθέτη.

Από πληροφορίες που δίνει το horror site με τον ευγενή τίτλο Bloody-Disgusting το σενάριο του remake θα επικεντρώνεται κυρίως στον Τζέισον και λιγότερο στην μαμά του, Κυρία Βόρχις, που ερμήνευε στο φιλμ του 1980 η Μπέτσι Πάλμερ. Slashers, Splatter Maniacs, Horror Lovers, Campers (και με τις δύο έννοιες) ετοιμαστείτε... η κατασκήνωση ξανανοίγει για τα καλά.
