It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

February start planned for The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield is ready for the sequel. Garfield was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week (video below) and he confirmed that the sequel will begin production in February.

Also, in an interview with E!, Garfield spoke about where he wants the sequel to go: "I feel really excited, I feel like we got over a hump with our first one," he said, "We had to reinstate the character, and we had to reinvigorate an audience to the character. And I hope to bring more of this theme—the theme of the orphan. I wanna keep exploring that theme of being fatherless, being motherless, searching for purpose and finding a purpose within himself, being a self-made man, I guess."

In case you think differently, Garfield takes his role as Spider-Man very seriously: "It is a responsibility to play that role, and I don't take it lightly. I think there's so much to explore with that mythology and within the tension between living a double life, struggling with being good, struggling with choosing good behavior over bad behavior, with the pressures of a city on your shoulders."

Garfield confirmed with Ellen that the film is already into pre-production, which could explain why Emma Stone has already gone back to her Gwen Stacy hair. She was seen last night at the Ninth Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards with her blond hair. Check out a photo from the event below!

Garfield also brought up the changes to the costume that director Marc Webb mentioned. Webb said the costume would feature 'Bigger Eyes' and 'Gnarly web shoorters,' but it seems there was another reason for the costume change than simply a new design. "The suit is undergoing a redesign because I couldn't urinate in it last time," Garfield said "So I'm less nervous 'cause that's gonna be nice."

Shailene Woodley is also attached to co-star in the May 2, 2014 release. Though it hasn't been officially confirmed, Jamie Foxx is expected to play Electro in the sequel. The Amazing Spider-Man is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-Ray 3D.

Paul Giamatti up for Rhino role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

It looks like Marc Webb's upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man will be getting another new villain! The Hollywood Reporter says that Paul Giamatti is in talks to play the Rhino in the May 2, 2014 film. It's also being reported that Felicity Jones is in talks for an undisclosed role.


The alter-ego of Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich, the Rhino first appeared in 1966's "The Amazing Spider-Man" #41. A former low-key thug, an experiment grafted a nearly-indestructible polymer to Aleksei's skin, making him nearly unstoppable.


Giamatti appeared last in year in a variety of projects like Rock of Ages, Cosmopolis and John Dies at the End. Jones, meanwhile, is well known for roles in films like The Tempest and Like Crazy.

Is Marc Webb teasing a familiar foe on The Amazing Spider-Man sequel set?




It's the third day of production on director Marc Webb's sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man and he just tweeted a new behind-the-scenes photo that shows off a metallic locker with the message Day 3. #happybirthday.


As revealed yesterday, the set appears to be somewhere in Oscorp labs and fans of Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley's "Ultimate Spider-Man" are likely to draw an immediate association between that locker and the comics' Oscorp lockers in which Peter Parker and Eddie Brock discover the experiment that becomes Venom. Could Webb be revealing an unexpected story arc that will be featured in the May 2, 2014 release or is this just a bit of misdirection? Compare the photos below to decide for yourself.

Following a tease by director Marc Webb himself last week, we now have your exclusive first look at the costume that will be featured in next summer's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Check it out below!


As Webb promised last November, the costume features much bigger eyes and a number of alterations to color and texture throughout. This is quite arguably the closest any of the films have come to matching the design from the comics, especially Mark Bagley's take in Ultimate Spider-Man.

Chris Cooper joins The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Norman Osborn!

THR is reporting that actor Chris Cooper has been cast as Norman Osborn aka The Green Goblin in the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2.


While it is surprising that another villain would be added to the cast of the film (which already includes Jamie Foxx as Electro and Paul Giammatti as The Rhino), the character's company, Oscorp, was heavily featured in the first film and appears to continue that trend in the second. The inclusion of Norman Osborn also makes sense given that Chronicle star Dane DeHaan has been cast as his son, Harry Osborn.


It remains to be seen if Cooper will put on the green mask and fight Spider-Man in the film, but check back here for any confirmation on that.

B.J. Novak joins The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb continues to post behind-the-scenes images and teasers for the upcoming film via his Twitter account and it has been some time since we got one that was as interesting as today's image. Captioned with "Day 38. A supposed rumor about a Dunder-Mifflin takeover of Oscorp?", Webb has officially confirmed that "The Office" star B.J. Novak has joined the sequel. Webb didn't specify which role Novak has taken on for the film, but one can suspect that it is a character that works for Norman Osborn. Any theories?

First Look at Jamie Foxx as Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2




He just appeared at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, but Jamie Foxx also filmed scenes for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in New York on Monday night, April 15. You can get a glimpse of him playing Electro below.


Foxx previously teased that the suit would not be the typical "green and yellow." These photos confirm earlier suspicions that the character is based on the "Ultimate" version, who was in fact blue for a short time.

Last week, we saw the first photos of Jamie Foxx as Electro on the set of the upcoming sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Today, director Marc Webb tweeted a photo of Foxx without his blue makeup on and presumably before his electrical transformation. Webb captioned the photo with this: "Day 52. My name is Max."

Last week, some set photos emerged for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that featured what many theorized was Paul Giamatti's stunt double for the film.
