Ο 17χρονος βρετανός που εμφανίστηκε στα Love Actually και Nanny McPhee, αποδείχθηκε ο επικρατέστερος για να ερμηνεύσει τον γνωστό ήρωα στην τριλογία που θα βασίζεται στο κόμικ του Herge. Έτσι λοιπόν, ο Sangster πέταξε μέχρι το Los Angeles προκειμένου να κάνει ορισμένα δοκιμαστικά με τον Steven Spielberg, που θα σκηνοθετήσει το πρώτο φιλμ της τριλογίας. Παρά το γεγονός ότι ο ατζέντης του νεαρού βρετανού δεν επιβεβαιώνει την είδηση φαίνεται ότι η υπόθεση είναι τελειωμένη και ο Sangster θα συναντήσει στο σετ της ταινίας τον συμπατριώτη του Andy Serkis που θα ερμηνεύει τον θρυλικό Captain Haddock. Την τριλογία θα μοιραστούν Spielberg και Jackson, καθώς ο πρώτος θα σκηνοθετήσει το πρώτο φιλμ και ο δεύτερος τα δύο ακόλουθα.

Gears of War Movie Update

ComingSoon.net got a chance to talk to Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey about the status of the proposed Gears of War video game adaptation. "We've got our script on and a director we're about to attach. We'll hopefully make that early next year for the summer of 2010," said Godfrey.

It was announced in March of 2007 that New Line Cinema (now a unit of Warner Bros.) had acquired the feature film rights to Epic Games' award-winning video game. Stuart Beattie was attached to adapt the project and Temple Hill Entertainment set to produce.

Since its debut in November 2006, "Gears of War" has broken sales records on the Microsoft Xbox 360, selling more than 3 million copies worldwide. The game thrusts players into humankind's epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet. The story unfolds as a ragtag group of soldiers use every last ounce of strength to survive the onslaught from the forces of evil, which begins on the historic Emergence Day.

Cliff Bleszinski, the lead game designer for "Gears of Wars," worked in conjunction with Beattie to define a treatment for the film.

Max Payne - The Movie

Μετά τα 2 ηλεκτρονικά παιχνίδια Max Payne και ένα ίσως στο δρόμο για το 2009, έρχεται και η κινηματογραφική ταινία.

Ως συνήθως το Χόλιγουντ μεταφέρει βίντεο παιχνίδι στο μεγάλο πανί, αλλά τουλάχιστον στη συγκεκριμένη περίπτωση το παιχνίδι είναι εξαιρετικό.

Στην ταινία πρωταγωνιστεί ο Μαρκ Γουόλμπεργκ.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth) has just signed on to direct Larklight: "set in a Victorian-era universe in which mankind has been exploring the solar system since the time of Isaac Newton, the story revolves around a brother and sister (the Mumby family) who team with a band of renegade space pirates to save the world from destruction at the hands of a madman."

That most excellent scribe Steven Knight (Eastern Promises) will adapt Philip Reeve's 2006 novel of the same name.

"Larklight" refers to a huge mansion that orbits around the earth and moon.

Dan Simmons's Hyperion Sci-Fi Series Being Adapted by Warner Bros

The Hyperion Cantos includes four individual books in total: Hyperion, The Fall of Hyperion, Endymion, The Rise of Endymion (published from 1989 to 1997). The first book, Hyperion, won the Hugo Award for best novel in 1990 and the second, The Fall of Hyperion, was nominated for a Nebula Award for best novel. You can find the first two individually on Amazon.com for pretty dang cheap. An article on the internet praises the series: "It is rare to find a series of books as imaginative, adventurous, and thought provoking as the Hyperion Cantos Series by Dan Simmons."

Hyperion deals with a space war, with most of the action taking place on a planet named Hyperion, known not only for its electricity-spewing trees but also for the Time Tombs, large artifacts that can move through time. The tombs are guarded by a monster called the Shrike, which impales people on metal trees. The series is inspired heavily by Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron and Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. The cantos is highly complex, featuring multiple time-lines and characters whose behavior changes dramatically, which was a challenge to adapt and the biggest issue that was overcome before Warner Brothers picked it up.

Newcomer Trevor Sands has been hired to adapt the first two books, Hyperion and The Fall of Hyperion, as one feature film with Graham King (The Departed, Blood Diamond, Bangkok Dangerous) producing. Apparently Sands won over the Warner Brothers execs by taking a selective approach to the two novels' multiple points of view in a way that managed to coherently and unconfusingly tell the story.

As was certainly apparent from the start, I'm looking forward to this primarily based on the fact that I'm desperate for some good science fiction movies. The Fifth Element is still one of the only good sci-fi flicks in recent years that had a grand scale and big budget and was still great. I've been waiting anxiously for another good sci-fi flick that I can pop in late on a Wednesday night when I'm in the mood to jump into the future. Dan Simmons' world in Hyperion seems grand enough to fulfill my desires, it will just come down to who they get as a director and whether Sands' script is any good.

Bruce Willis to Star in Jonathan Mostow’s Comic Book Adaptation The Surrogates

Shooting is scheduled to start on April 28 in Boston for a November 20, 2009 release.

The Surrogates is based on the 5-issue comic book mini-series by Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele, which takes place in the year 2054, with a pair of detectives trying to stop a techno-terrorist bent on destroying what are known as “surrogates” — widespread androids that interact for people in the real world, taking on any physical form they want.

Bruce Willis has just signed on to star, and Michael Ferris and John Brancato (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, The Net, Catwoman) will write the script.

H Paramount Pictures αγόρασε το "Lost City of Z" το χειρόγραφο του David Grann για την αναζήτηση μία χαμένης πόλης στον Αμαζόνιο και την παραγωγή θα αναλάβει ο Brad Pitt πιθανώς και τον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο.

Η ιστορία λοιπόν, αφορά σε έναν βρετανό εξερευνητή, τον Percy Harrison Fawcett, που στην προσπάθειά του να ανακαλύψει την χαμένη City of Z χάθηκε μαζί με την ομάδα του το 1925. Για εβδομήντα χρόνια επιδοξοι εξερευνητές προσπαθούν να εντοπίσουν το μονοπάτι του Fawcett. Ο Pitt θα υποδυθεί τον Fawcett.

Ο διάσημος ηθοποιός στις δηλώσεις του στην εφημερίδα αναφέρθηκε στην νέα ταινία του James Bond αλλά και για το ρόλο του 007. Μιλώντας για τον ρόλο του James Bond ο Craig τόνισε πως δεν σκοπεύει να εγκαταλείψει σύντομα αυτό το ρόλο ενώ αναφερόμενος στην νέα ταινία του 007, "Quantum of Solace", τόνισε πως θα έχει πολλές σκηνές δράσης. Ο γοητευτικός σταρ αποκάλυψε μάλιστα πως στην ταινία θα περιλαμβάνονται και αποκαλυπτικές σκηνές του.
Αυτό το διάστημα ο Craig βρίσκεται στα γυρίσματα του "Quantum of Solace", το οποίο είναι το 22ο φιλμ για τον James Bond. Η ταινία αναμένεται να κάνει πρεμιέρα στη Βρετανία τον ερχόμενο Οκτώβριο. Στο "Quantum of Solace" εκτός από τον Craig συμμετέχουν ακόμα η Olga Kurylenco, η Gemma Arterton και η Judi Dench. Την σκηνοθεσία της ταινίας έχει αναλάβει ο Marc Forster.

Σε ανακοίνωσή της για την εταιρία της η εντυπωσιακή Aniston δήλωσε: "Μας τραβάνε οι ιστορίες ανθρώπων που βρίσκουν τη φωνή τους και το δρόμο τους επειδή βοηθούν εμάς... να καταλάβουμε τη ζωή μέσα από τις ιστορίες αυτές". Σύμφωνα με τα δημοσιεύματα η εταιρία της Aniston έχει εξασφαλίσει ήδη τα δικαιώματα του bestseller της Jane Fallon, "Getting Rid of Matthew" καθώς και του "The Divorce Party" της Laura Dave.
Αυτό το διάστημα η διάσημη ηθοποιός βρίσκεται στο Μαϊάμι, όπου πραγματοποιεί τα γυρίσματα της νέας της ταινίας, "Marley & Me". Στην ταινία η Jennifer Aniston συμπρωταγωνιστεί με τον Owen Wilson και τον Eric Dane.

Κιάνου Ριβς, Μόνικα Μπελούτσι, Αλαν Αρκιν, Γουαινόνα Ράιντερ και πολλοί ακόμα είπαν το "ναι" στη συγγραφέα και σκηνοθέτη Ρεμπέκα Μίλερ και θα πρωταγωνιστήσουν στη νέα της ταινία "Οι Προσωπικές Ζωές της Πίπα Λι".

Η Ρεμπέκα Μίλερ, κόρη του Αρθουρ Μίλερ και σύζυγος του Ντάνιελ Ντέι Λιούις, θα προσαρμόσει σε σενάριο του νέου ομότιτλου μυθιστορήματός της με θέμα τη ζωή μιας 50χρονης που αφήνει την σεξουαλικότητά της ελεύθερη όταν ανακαλύπτει ότι ο σύζυγός της κάθε άλλο παρά πιστός της είναι.

Στον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο της Πίπα θα είναι η Ρόμπιν Ράιτ Πεν, τον σύζυγό της θα ενσαρκώνει ο Αλαν Αρκιν και τις πρώην και νυν ερωμένες του η Μπελούτσι και η Ράιντερ.

Η Τζουλιάν Μουρ παίζει μια ομοφυλόφιλη συγγραφέα, η Μάγκι Γκίλενχαλ την εθισμένη στα διαιτητικά χάπια μητέρα της πρωταγωνίστριας και ο Κιάνου Ριβς θα είναι ο εραστής της Πίπα.

Kevin Munroe Directing Dylan Dog

It's an Italian comic that was brought to the US via Dark Horse.

The comic is about the character Dylan, a penniless nightmare investigator who defies the whole preceding horror tradition with a vein of surrealism and an anti-bourgeois rhetoric. It's been described as "an early, slacker P.I. version of the X-Files."

The series is mainly set in London, where the protagonist lives, though he occasionally travels elsewhere. His clothes are one of his defining characteristics: he always dresses the same way, in a red shirt, black jacket, and blue jeans. You can check it out on DarkHorse.com.

Shooting will begin this July in Toronto.

Bloody Disgusting also confirms that Superman Returns star Brandon Routh has been officially attached as the lead in the film.

Horror company Hyde Park Films is producing.

Davis Entertainment acquires film rights to PA comic North Wind

Davis Entertainment, the guys behind Alex Proyas' I, Robot and AVP, have acquired the rights from Boom Studios to adapt the five book series for the screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, DiGilio has been recruited to push the pen on it while Boom co-founders, Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie, will produce along side Davis Ent.

Οικογένεια αστέρων!

Ο πατέρας είναι ο Ρόμπερτ Ντε Νίρο, τα παιδιά του είναι οι Ντρου Μπάριμπορ, Κέιτ Μπεκινσέιλ, Σαμ Ρόκγουελ, η μητέρα δυστυχώς δεν υπάρχει πλέον, αλλά όλοι είναι όλοι μια χαρά. Όλους αυτούς που ακούσατε θα τους συντονίζει ο Κερκ Τζόουνς στην ταινία "Everybody's fine".

Δεν ξέρουμε αν είχατε δει τότε το 1991 το "Stanno tutti bene" του Τζουζέπε Τορνατόρε με το Μαρτσέλο Μαστρογιάνι να κάνει ένα μικρό τουρ στην Ιταλία πηγαίνοντας σε Μιλάνο, Τορίνο, Νάπολη και Ρώμη για να κάνει έκπληξη στα παιδιά του. Ε το "Everybody's fine" θα είναι το remake αυτής της ταινίας.

Ο χοίρος Ματέο ξαφνικά συνειδητοποιεί πως ο μοναδικός δίαυλος επικοινωνίας με τα παιδιά του ήταν η γυναίκα του. Οπότε αποφασίζει να ξεκινήσει ένα ταξίδι με στόχο να τα επισκεφτεί ένα ένα για, ν' ανακαλύψει τελικά πως τίποτα δεν είναι όπως το φαντάζονταν και όπως τα είχε αφήσει πριν κάποια(πολλά) χρόνια.

Ναι ξέρετε τώρα, Τορνατόρε είναι αυτός, τέτοιες συγκινητικές ταινίες έφτιαχνε και έκανε τον κόσμο ν αναφωνεί πως το σινεμά είναι παράδεισος. Δεν ξέρουμε ποιο θα είναι το αποτέλεσμα του ανανεωμένου "Stanno Tutti bene" του Τζόουνς αλλά περιμένουμε ..

Ντένζελ Ουάσινγκτον, όπως λέμε Μπορν

Τα νέα κυκλοφόρησαν γρήγορα. Άλλο ένα βιβλίο του Ρόμπερτ Λάντλαμ, ο «Κύκλος των Ματαρέζε», παίρνει τη γνώριμη διαδρομή για το μεγάλο πανί. Πρωταγωνιστής στη μεταφορά αυτή δεν θα είναι ο συνήθης ύποπτος Ματ Ντέιμον, αλλά ο πιο ιντελέκτουαλ Ντένζελ Ουάσινγκτον.

Για όσους αναρωτιούνται «τι εστί Λάντλαμ», αρκεί να αναφέρουμε ότι ο Νεοϋορκέζος συγγραφέας είναι ο δημιουργός της μυθιστορηματικής σειράς βιβλίων με πρωταγωνιστή τον Τζέισον Μπορν. Ο Λάντλαμ υπήρξε σπεσιαλίστας των κατασκοπευτικών θρίλερ, όπου συνήθως ένας ήρωας ή μια ομάδα αντιφρονούντων πήγαινε ενάντια στα ψυχροπολεμικά σχέδια των δύο υπερδυνάμεων.

Κάτι παρόμοιο συμβαίνει και στον «Κύκλο» όπου δύο άσπονδοι εχθροί, ένας πράκτορας της CIA και ένας της KGB, αφήνουν για λίγο τα 38ρια τους και ενώνουν τις δυνάμεις τους για να αντιμετωπίσουν μια διεθνή σπείρα εκτελεστών που ονομάζεται «Ματαρέζε». Ο Ντένζελ Ουάσινγκτον θα είναι το CIA μισό του διδύμου, ενώ δεν έχουμε ακόμα νέα για τον Καγκεμπίτη.

Η MGM χρυσοπλήρωσε για τα δικαιώματα του κατασκοπευτικού βιβλίου, καταθέτοντας τρία ολόκληρα εκατομμύρια δολάρια στο λογαριασμό της οικογένειας του εκλιπόντα Λάντλαμ. Τα πρακτοριλίδικα έξοδα, όμως, δεν τελειώνουν εδώ για το αμερικάνικο στούντιο.

Η MGM έχει αναθέσει στον Μάικλ Μπραντ και στον Ντέρεκ Χας («Το Τελευταίο Τρένο Για Τη Γιούμα», «Wanted» ) να γράψουν το βασισμένο στο βιβλίο σενάριο της ταινίας, καταβάλλοντας πάνω από ενάμιση εκατομμύρια δολάρια! Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες οι σεναριογράφοι θα «χαλαρώσουν» λίγο το παλιομοδίτικο ψυχροπολεμικό κλίμα που υπάρχει στην ατμόσφαιρα του βιβλίου.

Η MGM βασίζει πολλά στον «Κύκλο των Ματαρέζε», ελπίζοντας να κεφαλαιοποιήσει την απίστευτη επιτυχία που έχει γνωρίσει μέχρι τώρα η σειρά του «Μπορν». Το πρότζεκτ δεν έχει ακόμα σκηνοθέτη, αλλά όλοι εύχονται ότι το όνομα του Γκρίνγκρας θα είναι αυτό που θα γραφτεί στους τίτλους τέλους της ταινίας.

Universal snatches Earth vs The Moon !

According to Empire Universal is ready to bring war to earth in the form of the new scifi flick Earth vs the Moon.

Little is known about the project so far, but we figure that the title perhaps gives the game away.

So, have Wernick and Reese - who also wrote the forthcoming Zombieland - created a world in which the Moon is revealed to be home to sentient beings, who decide to wage war on the third rock from the sun?

Or are we waaaaaaay off base? Only time will tell.
